Volume strategy

a term defined by PAS 1192-2:2013 which put the responsibility of the lead designer to subdivide project within the project to different disciplines into which they carry out their system models (walls, structure, pipework, ductwork, electrical, etc). This approach aimed to allow multiple people to work on Project Information Model simultaneously i.e. Revit.

In ISO 19650 the term is replaced by term ‘federation strategy’ and ‘information container breakdown structure.’
